چکیده
Pigeon pea [Canjanus cajan (L.) Millsp.] is an orphan crop that has remained greatly unimproved in quality and quantity Africa even though it great potential of supplying food to the growing population. Its yield affected by various biotic abiotic factors a lack varieties with broad adaptability range environments. It therefore important select accessions are stable different environments for components. A randomized complete block design layout was used carry out multi-locational trial using 107 pigeon accessions. Data taken total number pods per plant at maturity, pod length, seed weight, seeds pod, plant. Additive main effects multiplicative interaction (AMMI) genotype environment (GGE) biplot were interpret data. The mean squares PCA explained first two principal components account 100% G x E interaction. results revealed differences across three locations mostly due genotypes some extent Six observed be high-yielding all

Integrated Weed Management in Pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.]
Uncontrolled weeds cause considerable losses in the grain yield of pigeonpea. Field experiments were conducted for seven years from 1998 to 2004 on a loamy sand soil to study the effect of weed management on weeds, growth and grain yield of pigeonpea. In some years, weed dry matter was higher than in others, due to variation in rainfall received. Two hand weedings, pendimethalin in integration ...

Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is an annual or short-lived perennial food legume of acute regional importance, providing significant protein to the human diet in less developed regions of Asia and Africa. Due to its narrow genetic base, pigeonpea improvement is increasingly reliant on introgression of valuable traits from wild forms, a practice that would benefit from knowledge of its domestication ...

This study evaluated 26 pigeonpea rhizobial isolates according to their cultural characteristics, intrinsic antibiotic resistance, salt and temperature tolerance, carbon source utilization and amylolytic activity. The cultural characterization showed that the majority of them presented the ability to acidify the YMA. Among the 27 isolates evaluated, 25 were able to grow when incubated at 42° C ...
